With the new year festivities well and truly over and my Blogmanay trip around Scotland little but a faint memory, my thoughts have turned to where 2013 will take me. When I’m bored and a little fed up with being at home my thoughts always seem to turn to where I’m going next.
The sun setting over Brandenburg Gate
Berlin
I’ll be visiting Berlin in March to attend a massive travel event, ITB. I’m excited to get back to Berlin as on my first visit there I fell in love with Kreuzberg and the nightlife of the city. I’m also looking forward to catching up with lots of my travel blogging friends from around the world as we all gather in the city for the event.
Benalmedena
The beginning of April will see me heading to Benalmedena on the Spanish Costa del Sol for my cousin’s hen getaway. 11 ladies, 5 days and plenty of sunshine and cocktails. Perfect!
Sailing up the ria towards Kotor
Italy, Croatia, Malta and Montenegro
I’ll be embarking upon a cruise holiday in June (my 14th cruise!) which will see me visiting Dubrovnik, Rome, Naples, Sicily, Valletta, Kotor and Split over the space of 10 days. I visited Kotor last year and fell in love with the sail up the ria towards the city. It was striking similar to sailing up a fjord and I can’t wait to do it all over again!
A picture perfect gondola ride in Venice
Venice
After the cruise I’ll be spending a few days in the impossibly beautiful city of Venice – a place I believe people either love or hate. I’m determined that this time I’ll make it to Burano, the island with the pretty colourful houses as I’ve heard so much about it!
Paris
Just a day after returning from Venice I’ll be flying off to Paris. It’ll be my first time in Paris (I know, shocking!) and I’d love to hear any tips you have for things to see, do and eat in the city!
Aberdeen
I’ll be making the three hour journey from my home in the west of Scotland up to the Granite City for my cousin’s wedding. I’m a bridesmaid and absolutely terrified of falling over as we walk down the aisle! Apart from my nerves I’m looking forward to exploring Aberdeen and the surrounding areas for a few days either side of the big day.
India
September will see me heading to India for the first time and I could not be more EXCITED! India is a place I’ve always wanted to visit and I’m so happy that I finally get to go. I’m going with my mum, who has been fascinated by India since she was little and is possibly even more excited than I am!
Aaaand that’s all I have planned for now. There will definitely be many more trips throughout the year but that’s all I have planned for the moment. I’ll probably be in London a few times, there’ll be trips within my beautiful home country Scotland and a few surprises along the way.
What are your travel plans for 2013? I’d love you to share them in the comments below!

Oh you’ll have to let me know when you’re in Paris! I’d love to show you round.
