Next week I’m heading back to one of my favourite European destinations – The Algarve region of Portugal!

Thomas is already in Portugal on a golfing holiday with the guys. Instead of him flying home, he’s staying there and I’m flying out to meet him. He’s meeting me at the airport with a rental car that we’ll have for our time there.

We’re staying in Vilamoura, a place we both know very well after several trips there. As we’ll have the car we’ll be able to do plenty of exploring during our trip. We’re planning to visit Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago for certain and then we’ll see where else we feel like going. We’re also considering doing some wine tasting and we might rent out a boat for an afternoon. Nothing has been set in stone and we’re just going to take it easy and see how we feel when we’re there.

I’m excited to put my out of office on, forget about checking emails for my blog and business and just relax. I want to feel the sun on my face, the sand between my toes and have a drink in hand for the majority of the trip.

We’ve booked a really cute-looking apartment with a big balcony and a swimming pool. I’m so looking forward to sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine admiring the view!

It’ll be so lovely to be with Thomas when we’re away. He’s been travelling with work so much lately that we’ve barely seen each other. It’ll be amazing to spend some time together and just enjoy each others company.

I’ve written lots on my blog before about how much I adore Portugal. I think The Algarve is such a special region with some great towns and villages, friendly people, stunning beaches, amazing weather and fantastic food and drink. What’s not to love?

The Algarve is always a region that I feel comfortable and at home in. Everytime I return I immediately feel happy and at ease. It’s also a place I don’t think I’ll ever tire of visiting. There are always new places to explore, new views to discover and new restaurants to try out.

So, tomorrow I’m putting my out of office on and shutting down my laptop for 10 blissful days off. I’ve prepared some posts to go live on my blog whilst I’m gone and all my client work is finished and scheduled.

Happy holidays to me!
