There are just a few days left of 2018 and I can’t quite believe it. This year has seemed to pass by in the blink of an eye. I’ve got a post coming in the next few days that looks back on all my travels and everything that’s happened in 2018, so stay tuned for that.

Onwards, now, to 2019! A brand new year, a fresh start and lots of new opportunities. I always think a new year feels so refreshing and full of possibilities, don’t you?

I’m really looking forward to 2019, as I already have a lot of amazing things already planned. Check out my travel plans for the upcoming year…

January – New Year Getaway

I’ll be ringing in the New Year in a massive mansion house just south of Perth in Scotland with a large group of friends. There’s set to be more than 20 of us there, so it should be a bit of a party! There’ll be board games, drinking games, plenty of good food, laughter and great wine. Hopefully, it’ll be the perfect way to welcome in a brand new year.

I’m also really happy that I can take my dog Ben along with me. He’ll enjoy long walks in the countryside during the day and the attention of more than 20 people. He’ll be in his element!

February – Amsterdam

2019 travel amsterdam
In February I’m off to Amsterdam with 13 other ladies for my soon-to-be sister-in-law’s hen weekend! Amsterdam is a city I really, really like but haven’t spent much time there recently. I can’t wait to wander the canals, eat in cute restaurants and take loads of photographs.

I can’t reveal too much about what we’re doing while we’re there in case the bride is reading this (hi Michelle!), but there’ll be full details after it’s all over.

March – My Brother’s Wedding!

At the end of March, my brother Iain and his fianceé Michelle are finally tying the knot! I’m super excited to be a bridesmaid and be a part of their big day.

It’s a church wedding, then the reception is at the gorgeous 19th century Mar Hall Hotel, which has stunning views out over the River Clyde and towards the sea.

I know it’s going to be a fabulous day and I’m so excited to celebrate with everyone.

April – Portugal

In the middle of April, I’m off to Portugal to the property my dad has invested in for the family! It’s in The Algarve region in the south of Portugal, an area we’re all very familiar with.

It’s going to be a week of relaxing in the sunshine, swimming in the pool and exploring more parts of our favourite region in Portugal. Bliss.

May – Archerfield

Our first visit to Archerfield for the year will be in May, which still seems like ages away.

Archerfield is a luxury golf and leisure estate just outside of North Berwick on the east coast of Scotland. It’s a place we go several times a year with my family and stay in the gorgeous lodges. We’ve been going there about 8 years now and it almost feels like a second (much more luxurious) home.

The weekends mostly consist of walking on the beach with Ben, eating gorgeous food, drinking lots of bubbles, visiting the spa and wandering around North Berwick. They’re super relaxing and always great fun.

July – Paris and The South of France

2019 travel south of france
I can’t wait for July when I’m heading to Paris then to the south of France with Thomas, my brother Iain, his wife (by then!) Michelle and my parents.

We’re spending the first three days in Paris, in a stunning apartment with a roof terrace that has views of the Eiffel Tower. It’s literally the dream Paris apartment! While we’re in Paris we plan to take a food tour, go up the Eiffel Tower, potentially visit Versailles and much more. I’ve been to Paris twice before, but always happy for more recommendations, so if you have any please let me know.

Then, we’re flying down to Nice and driving onto the villa we’ve hired in Antibes. It has a private pool and everything we could need to chill out. The south of France is an area we all know very well so we’ll have fun going to some of our favourite places for day trips.

August – Archerfield

It’s back to Archerfield for a long weekend in August. Let’s hope there’s sunshine and warm weather in August!

October – November – India

2019 travel india
October marks the biggest trip of the year – my return to India! By the time October rolls around, it’ll have been 6 years since I was in India and I’m excited to return.

Last time, my mum and I travelled to India together but this time my dad and Thomas are joining us too. We’ve visiting loads of different places in three weeks, including Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Agra, Shimla, Chandigarh and much more. It’s going to be an incredibly busy but exciting few weeks.

Thomas and my Dad have never been to India before so I’m interested to see their reaction to the country. India is such a chaotic, vibrant, exciting, weird, wonderful, and crazy place. I know I had mixed feelings about it during my first trip there, so I’m interested to see how they’ll react.

November – December – Archerfield

We’re spending the last few days of November and the first few of December back at Archerfield, for what will most likely be my last trip of 2019. Archerfield is pretty much the perfect place to do that and a cosy weekend beside the roaring fire with my favourite people will be perfect.

And that’s it for 2019…so far! I’m sure there’s a little bit of space in there to fit another couple of jaunts in. All in all, it looks like it’s going to be an incredibly exciting year and there’s so much to look forward to. Here’s to 2019 and Happy New Year when it comes!
