Happy New Year!

I seriously can’t believe it’s 2019 already. Time seems to be going so quickly! It feels like hardly any time since the beginning of 2018. Is that sign I’m getting old? Eeek.

Whilst 2018 wasn’t my busiest or most exciting year of travel, it was still a really amazing year. I visited one new country, taking my total number of countries visited to 39!

I visited Archerfield six amazing times throughout 2018. If you’re a regular reader here you’ll know that Archerfield is a private estate near North Berwick on the east coast of Scotland. There are gorgeous luxury lodges there, as well as two golf courses, a mansion house, an incredible spa and more. My family have a membership there and it’s one of our favourite places to go all together.

Our weekends there consist of wandering around North Berwick, visiting the beach and walking along the sand, relaxing in the spa, eating delicious food and drinking plenty of bubbles. There’s always loads of laughter and it’s great to be together as a family.

I visited Bulgaria for the first time in 2018 for my first ever ski holiday!

I headed to Pamporovo with Thomas, his sister and her partner for a week of skiing fun. Thomas and I only learned to ski at the end of 2017 we were so excited for our first snowy holiday.

Unfortunately, the skiing side of things didn’t go so well for me. At the end of the most incredible first day, where I realised how much I loved skiing, I fell and twisted my knee. That meant I couldn’t ski much for the rest of the trip, but I still had a fantastic time.

We definitely loved skiing and we’ll hopefully be going on another ski holiday sometime soon!

Despite my favourite city in Scotland being Glasgow, I always love spending time in the capital. Thomas and I spent a really great few days in Edinburgh in summer when the weather was really good.

We did all the touristy stuff that we don’t normally do in Edinburgh. We visited Edinburgh Castle (my first time!), wandered along the Royal Mile and through the Old Town, discovered a really cute wine bar and had some of my most favourite meals in Edinburgh. It was perfect.

At the beginning of September, Thomas and I headed back to one of our favourite and most-visited places – Portugal. We spent a week revisiting some of our favourite places and discovered some new ones too.

It was a blissful week, that was so well needed after Thomas had spent much of the previous few months working away from home.

Just a few weeks after we returned from Portugal, we headed back there with my parents and my brother. We were going back unexpectedly, as my dad had decided to invest in a timeshare property for all the family to use. We went to so we could all have a look at the place before he decided to sign on the dotted line.

We all absolutely loved it and we’re now looking forward to using it every year in April!

And that was all my travels during 2018. But, 2019 is set to be much, much busier travel-wise and I cannot wait! If you want to see what’s in store for my 2019 travel click here
