One of my favourite places to stay in Scotland is at Archerfield Links Golf Club luxury lodges. With my birthday coming up later this week (it’s on Friday and, yes, presents are welcome!), we decided to head out there for a weekend and enjoy a spot of luxury.

Archerfield Links Lodges

My favourite thing about the lodges is the stunning views you can enjoy from every window, and especially from the large balcony. All of the lodges offer views over the golf course and I can’t wait to come back in summer and savour the views on a warm evening with a cool glass of wine in hand. Although it is March, the weather during our visit was typically Scottish – cold and raining, but it meant we could take advantage of the real wood burning fire.

The lodges are beautifully designed, spacious and so comfortable that the thought of leaving them is pretty painful. But with two golf courses, an indulgent spa, a cosy clubhouse and some gorgeous walks to take, all within the ground of Archerfield Links, venturing outside your lodge is just too tempting.

Everything has been thought of here and you can even have a chef come in to cook for you in the massive, modern kitchen. Lucky for me I have a brother who should definitely be a chef instead of a boring accountant, and he made great use of the kitchen and served up the most delicious early birthday dinner for me and the rest of the family and friends who were spending the weekend with us at Archerfield.

The worst part about the weekend was definitely having to leave at the end of it! I could have stayed there for much longer, and definitely can’t wait to visit again in summer. It really was the perfect start to my birthday celebrations! Stay tuned to find out where I’ll be spending my actual birthday…
