If you’re looking for an incredible villa to rent in Sorrento then you’ve come to the right place. I just recently returned from a week-long stay at Villa Serena, and I could not recommend the villa more highly. It’s pretty easy to see why…
Villa Serena has three bedrooms (two ensuite and a separate shower room for the third bedroom), and sleeps six adults. There’s a large kitchen with everything you could possibly need, an open-plan living and dining area and each bedroom opens out onto the balcony, which wraps its way around the top floor of the villa.
Inside there is everything you could need whilst on holiday, plus more. It seems as though everything has been thought of and there was nothing lacking at all.
Leading from the kitchen there’s a large outside area with a table, chairs and parasol, for when the Italian sun gets a little too fierce (basically every single day we were there!). There are steps leading from here down to the pool on the lower level too.
At the other side of the house there’s a huge outdoor dining table with the most incredible views I’ve ever enjoyed whilst having a meal.
Beyond the outdoor dining area there’s a huge grassy area with lounge chairs and a lovely area to relax in. Then there are steps leading down to the pool, via the handily located shower room and toilet, that means you don’t have to traipse back up to the villa when you’re at the swimming pool and need the toilet.
The swimming pool itself is plenty big enough for six people and there are loads of loungers and chairs surrounding it where you can sit in the sun or shade. It’s pretty much the perfect place to relax!
Another of the best things about Villa Serena is the wonderful housekeeper Theresa who lives on the bottom floor of the villa and is there for anything you need. She cooks, she cleans, she looks after the garden and she’s just the loveliest Italian lady!
I was there with Thomas, my parents, my brother and his girlfriend Michelle and usually we’re all the type of people who like to be out and about all the time. In truth, we didn’t really plan on spending that much time at the villa until we arrived and saw just how amazing it was! Instead of going out to restaurants in Sorrento every night we had two BBQs cooked up by my brother and on two other nights we asked Theresa to cook for us.
The first night she made homemade ‘Theresa Pizzas’ on the wood-fired pizza oven and the second night she whipped us up three different pasta dishes to share – spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti with clams and spaghetti all’arrabbiata. The food was delicious (and there was so much of it! Theresa makes gigantic portions!) and each time she set the table beautifully and insisted on cleaning up afterwards too. What a woman!
If you’re looking for a villa to rent in Sorrento then I really couldn’t recommend anywhere better than this. It’s located just outside of Sorrento, up in the hills, as most villas in this area are. The hill it’s up is reasonably steep, but definitely walkable. During the day we used to walk down to the bottom of the hill and jump on the bus there that then winds its way into the centre of Sorrento. At night we used to just call a taxi to come and pick us up and it was no trouble at all.
For relaxation, comfort, indulgence and a truly memorable experience it doesn’t get any better than Villa Serena!
NOTE: I was on a family holiday and was not hosted by Villa Serena. I’m under no obligation to write this article – I just had such a great experience that I wanted to share it!
