As a travel blogger and travel lover I’ve travelled extensively throughout many parts of the world. I’ve visited 38 countries to date across the world and I’ve visited more than half of the countries that exist within Europe.
I absolutely adore visiting European countries. They’re easily reached from my home in Scotland within just a few hours of flying and I love the amount of history that Europe is steeped in. Throughout Europe there is stunning architecture and signs of life dating back thousands of years, which I find seriously fascinating. Europe is so easy and so accessible for travel that it’s just such a fantastic destination.
There are currently 50 internationally recognised sovereign states within Europe (source). These are the 22 countries I haven’t yet visited:
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Czech Republic
Of these 22 countries there are quite a few that are high on my ‘must-visit’ list. I’ve wanted to visit Austria for years and years because it looks so pretty. Bulgaria is pretty high on my list. I really like the look of Luxembourg, Hungary and the Czech Republic too. To be honest, there’s not really anywhere on the list that I would be adverse to visiting, quite the opposite. I always enjoy travelling to new places, experiencing new things and learning more about other countries and cultures.
I’d love to eventually visit every single country in Europe, as I think that would be a really fun achievement. Perhaps I’ll make that my new goal! There are countries and places in Europe that I return to again and again because I love them so much, but I think it could be time to add in a few new destinations to allow me to visit more of Europe.
