What to Wear on a Princess Cruise

By |January 24th, 2019|Cruise Chat, Cruise Tips, Cruising, Travel Tales|0 Comments

I’ve been lucky enough to have embarked on 18 cruises in my 28 and three-quarter years. Naturally, I now get asked a lot of questions about what to wear on cruises by people who are new to cruise holidays. One line I’ve been asked a lot about recently is Princess, specifically, what to wear on a Princess Cruise.

Princess are […]

What I Miss About Cruise Holidays

By |March 8th, 2018|Cruise Chat|0 Comments

I’ve been lucky enough to have been on 18 cruise holidays in my lifetime. Eighteen. That’s a lot for someone who’s only 27 years old. I didn’t go on my first cruise until I was 13, so that means I’ve done 18 cruises in the last 14 years. It sounds like a lot when I put it like that!

I’ve written […]

What to Wear on a Royal Caribbean Cruise

By |March 23rd, 2017|Cruise Chat, Cruise Tips|2 Comments

I often get asked about dress codes on cruise ships and, as Royal Caribbean is one of the largest cruise lines in the world, many people ask what to wear on a Royal Caribbean Cruise.

Well, the answer of what to wear on a cruise can vary quite a bit depending on what cruise line you’re travelling with, the time of […]

It’s that time of year again – time to look back on where 2014 has taken me during my cruise travels!
I’ve been on two cruises this year – one with MSC to the Canary Islands and Morocco and another with Holland America which left from Venice and visited an incredible 7 different countries!

What to Wear on A Holland America Cruise

By |October 9th, 2014|Cruise Chat, Cruise Tips, Packing|14 Comments

Knowing what to wear on a cruise holiday can be one of the trickiest things you need to sort out before you go. If you’ve never been on a cruise before then you might be completely unsure on what to pack but I have a few tips for those sailing with Holland America.
Daytime Wear
What you should wear on a Holland America cruise during the day is pretty much what you would wear in any holiday resort. Swimsuits, shorts and sundresses are all perfect for a sunny day at sea and if you’re going sightseeing in a port of call then comfort is definitely key.

A pair of trousers and a top,  a sundress or shorts and a tee are all perfect in warm weather. In cooler weather you should pack lots of layers to keep warm, basically the same as you would for any other holiday.

The main thing to keep in mind for daytime is if you’re doing a lot of walking exploring new places then you should have something comfortable on your feet. Personally I find flat sandals really comfortable so I live in these during the daytime on warm weather cruises. […]

Holland America MS Nieuw Amsterdam Review

By |October 6th, 2014|Cruise Chat|9 Comments

I recently returned from a 12 night Mediterranean Romance cruise with Holland America on board their elegant ship MS Nieuw Amsterdam.

The ship is currently the second largest in Holland America’s fleet and holds a little more than 2,100 passengers and more than 900 crew members.

We joined the ship in the beautiful city of Venice, a place that I absolutely adore. When we arrived to embark the ship there was no queue and we were checked in and on board within just 5 minutes. Perfect!
We immediately went to explore the ship and I found myself loving the New York influences dotted around the ship. New York’s roots go back to 1624 when it was founded by colonists of the Dutch Republic and named the New Amsterdam.

Visiting Silversea’s Silver Cloud

By |August 11th, 2014|Cruise Chat|0 Comments

I’ve previously sailed upon one cruise with Silversea, on board Silver Shadow in Asia, and absolutely loved my cruising experience with them. Of course I was pretty excited when I received an invitation to dinner on board one of their other ships, Silver Cloud, which would be docked in Edinburgh for an overnight visit.

I’m Going Cruising with Holland America

By |May 12th, 2014|Cruise Chat|0 Comments

I’m very excited to tell you all that I’ve booked my latest cruise which will be my seventeeth cruise (unless I can fit another one in before then!). My boyfriend and I have booked a cruise on board Holland America’s ms nieuw Amsterdam leaving from Venice at the beginning of September and we both cannot wait!

I’ve previously written about how I think cruises are perfect for young couples and it seems my boyfriend agrees as it was his suggestion that we go on another one. Yay!
So we’re flying to Venice a day before we get on board so that we can spend a little time in the city. I’ve been to Venice more times than I can count but my boyfriend hasn’t been before so I’m pretty excited to show him around. I think Venice is one of those places that people either love or hate but I’m firmly in the love camp and simply adore this wonderful watery city.

Why I Think Cruises are Perfect for Young Couples

By |May 8th, 2014|Cruise Chat, Travel Tales|3 Comments

Are you a young couple looking for somewhere to go on holiday, but a cheap and cheerful all inclusive week in the sunshine just isn’t cutting it? Yeah, that was exactly what my boyfriend and I were thinking at the beginning of this year so I tentatively brought up the idea of a cruise. To my surprise I was met by extreme enthusiasm and we were soon searching the entire internet for a great cruise. We eventually found one that suited our dates and was where we wanted to go so we booked a cruise with MSC Cruises.

As it was my sixteenth cruise I already knew what to expect but I wasn’t sure what my boyfriend would make of it as a first-time-cruiser. I needn’t have worried though as he loved it and we’ve actually just booked another one with Holland America for September this year. Yay!
