I’ll be the first person to admit that I have travel on the brain. I think about travel more times a day than I can count. I look up flights to different places at least 3-4 times per week and I love reading about exotic destinations.
Lately, my wanderlust has been even stronger. I bought a house recently, which meant I had to sacrifice a big trip last year to move in. Now, I have really itchy feet and can’t stop thinking about where I’ll travel to in 2017. These are the 5 dream holiday destinations that I can’t stop thinking about right now…
South of France
I mentioned last week that Thomas and I were busy trying to find a destination to go to in August for his mum’s birthday. She has a big birthday this year and has said she’d like to celebrate by going away somewhere as a family. We were going back and forth for weeks with potential places but we’ve finally settled on the South of France.
I absolutely adore the South of France, so I’m over the moon that this is where we’re going. We are busy looking at flights and hotels right now. We’re thinking of perhaps staying in Cannes or Juan-les-Pins – we’d love any recommendations from you though!
We plan to take day trips using the train (the train is an amazing way to get around in the south of France), visit Monaco, Nice and my favourite little French town – Villefranche sur mer. Add to that plenty of French food and wine and you have a pretty happy travel blogger!
I have been dreaming about a trip to the Maldives and a stay in one of those dreamy overwater bungalows for YEARS! In the past year quite a few people I know have been and have seen it’s even more wonderful in real life, making me want to go even more.
I’m usually a lover of holidays that involve a bit more sightseeing and exploration, but I think I could quite happily relax here for a week or two. I’d like to swim in that glorious turquoise water, stroll along the impossibly perfect beaches and just generally recharge my batteries. How perfect!
I can now officially ski! Some of you might remember that I’ve had some ski lessons in the past week and I’m now qualified to hit the slopes! Unsurprisingly, this has got me seriously wanting to embark on a ski holiday.
I’ve heard so much about Pamporovo, in the south of Bulgaria and how good it is for beginner skiiers. It also looks beautifully scenic and Bulgaria would be a completely new country for me. If anyone has been before I’d love to know what you think.
My parents are off on an amazing trip to Singapore, China, Thailand and Vietnam next month and I’ve been helping them with some research and tips. I was in Singapore for half a day (before catching a flight) back in 2013 and absolutely loved it. I really wish I’d had more time there to explore more of this fascinating, tiny country. Helping my parents plan their trip has made me want to return even more.
I want to eat ALL the food in the hawker centres, swim in *that* pool on top of Marina Bay Sands Hotel overlooking the city, do some window shopping on Orchard Road and much, much more. I’m sure it won’t be long before I’m back to Singapore and doing all of this!
New York City
I’ve been lusting after a trip to NYC for years and I really need to make it happen sometime soon. I feel like New York is featured so often in movies and on TV that actually being there would be kind of surreal. I’d like to explore all of the places I’ve seen so often on TV and see if the city actually is how it’s portrayed.
There are so many things I want to do and see in New York that I know a trip there would cost me an absolute fortune. I’d also love to stay somewhere really fabulous whilst in the city to have the best experience possible. Need to get saving those pennies so I can really do New York in style!
