Visiting Athens During the Greek Elections

Posted on by Emma Gray in Greece | 1 Comment

I visited some different places in Greece before and during the recent presidential elections. I was in the capital, Athens just before election day and I visited several different islands just days after the Greek elections. Before I left for my trip people asked if I was worried about visiting Athens, given the huge amount of negative media detailing riots and protests in the city, but I was determined not to be put off exploring. If you’ve been following my blog or tweets …

Stunned by Split

Posted on by Emma Gray in Croatia | 2 Comments

Of all the ports of call on my cruise the Croatian city of Split was the one I was most surprised by. From the moment I stepped onto dry land I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful the city is. I entered the heart of the city inside the protective walls via a long tunnel that was a blissfully cool haven from the blistering heat outside. The small stalls inside sold many typically tourist items but if you were willing to …

Friday Photo- Villa Cheminée

Whilst waiting in the shaded queue to begin our climb it didn’t seem too hot, but once we got to the front and started the first 30-or-so steps, boy was it warm. Everyone who visits Florence admires the green, pink and white marbled exterior of the Duomo, but …

I’m On A Cruise!

Posted on by Emma Gray in Travel Tales | 2 Comments

On Monday the 11th of June I’m off on my next trip- this time a cruise round the Mediterranean with my family and friends. This will be my 11th cruise and I’m really excited about it. We’re flying from Edinburgh to Venice to join Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas. I sailed on the Grandeur in September 2011 and, as she’s just been refurbished, I’m really looking forward to checking out all the changes and improvements. Here’s the itinerary for our …
